It’s not about being perfect. It’s about effort. And when you implement that effort into your life, every single day, that’s where transformation happens. That’s how change occurs.Anonymous
Professional development refers to the continued training and education of an individual regarding their career by giving them the opportunity to expand and enhance their professional skills.
The Trans4 Center offers a variety of venues for professionals to participate in: workshops, seminars, webinars, and conferences. Through innovative and practical learning experiences, individuals, organizations, schools and communities are better equipped to create positive change in their sphere of influence.
CURRICULUM-BASED SUPPORT GROUP (CBSG®) PROGRAM FACILITATOR TRAINING
The Trans4m Center is the sole provider of Curriculum-Based Support Group (CBSG®) Program. Rainbow Days, Inc., founded in 1982, is the developer of the evidence-based Curriculum-Based Support Group (CBSG®) Program. The CBSG® Program is designed to increase resilience in children and youth who experience adversity, trauma and toxic stress through the development of healthy social, emotional and coping skills in a caring support group setting. Caring adults support them as they learn and apply the social, emotional and coping skills needed to make healthy, responsible decisions including positive behaviors, academic success and a non-use attitude regarding alcohol and other drugs.
The CBSG® Program is effective for both Selective and Indicated populations and works well in multiple settings including schools, juvenile justice settings, community organizations, transitional living settings, homeless & domestic violence settings, church and faith based organizations, recreation centers, after-school programs, apartment programs, summer camps, and many more. More than 22,000 have been trained as CBSG® Program Facilitators from 44 states as well as PeaceCorps Volunteers in Ecuador and school and community leaders in England.
Four Facilitator Manual Adaptations are available to meet the specific age and setting requirements. All group participant handouts and activities are available in English and Spanish on a USB.
Attendance at a one-day training is required to be a CBSG® Program Facilitator and receive one Facilitator Manual Adaptation. Additional adaptations may be purchased for $125. Trainings are offered in Dallas quarterly or an organization may contract with The Trans4m Center for a site-based training at their location.
ABOUT OUR WORKSHOPS
The Trans4m Center Workshops are educational programs designed to teach or introduce participants to research, practical skills, techniques, or ideas which they can use in their daily lives. Workshops are participatory, time limited (1.5-3 hours) and practical. Additionally, a sense of community or common purpose can be achieved through the workshop experience.
A variety of workshop topics have been developed and can be conducted on-site, offered through conferences, or presented in a webinar. Trans4m can also develop a workshop specific to your organization’s needs.
The Trans4m Center workshops are ideal for Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Prevention and Treatment Professionals, Educators, Counselors, Mental Health, Law Enforcement, Juvenile Justice, Community Coalitions, Faith Laity and Clergy, and Organization/Agency Volunteers.
We’ve provided a description of available workshops. Additionally, workshops can also be designed to meet your organizations requirements.
In an effort to address workforce development needs, without incurring the cost of travel, Trans4m offers 1 hour workshops via a webinar format.
